Estimation of Doubly-Dispersive Channels in Linearly Precoded Multicarrier Systems Using Smoothness Regularization

In this paper, we propose a novel channel estimation scheme for pulse-shaped multicarrier systems using smoothness regularization ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC). It can be applied to any system with or without linear precoding estimate challenging doubly-dispersive channels. A recently proposed modulation orthogonal is time-frequency and space (OTFS). OTFS, pilot data symbols are placed in delay-Doppler (DD) domain jointly precoded the (TF) domain. On one hand, such increases achievable accuracy enables high TF diversity at receiver. other it introduces leakage effects which requires extensive suppression when piloting data. To avoid this, precode only, place into domain, coefficients by interpolating smooth functions from samples. Furthermore, present enabling control of number position symbols.
